The Origins

A seed of an idea that germinated in the mind of a young enterprising lawyer Mr. K. V. Ram, who clairvoyantly foresaw the transformation of Madras to a megapolis, turned his vision into a momentous life changing journey of epic proportions.

A connoisseur of fine living, he embarked upon creating dwellings for the discerning elite of Madras since 1956. Over a decade he became a name to reckon with for reliability and commitment, leading to founding of the brand "RAMS" in 1969. Ably supported by his life partner Smt. Saraswathi, RAMS as a brand came with a unique quality in an otherwise cold and calculative business - empathy and personal touch. A true family enterprise, Mr. Rams son Mr. Ravikrishnan and his wife Mrs. Rajalakshmi, inherited the acumen and joined hands with him to build a formidable portfolio of properties from the 1970s and well into the 2010’s.

All RAMS projects were personal commitments of the promoters, a trait that carries well into the third generation today, guarding and sustaining the values and the philosophy of the founders.

Innovations

Though having entered the real estate business with a humble beginning of building independent houses, Villas and Community housing. Mr.K.V Ram was fascinated and intrigued by the multi-storied building schemes in the city of Bombay. Foreseeing a impending land crunch in a bustling and burgeoning metropolis of Madras, he influenced the introduction of the undivided share of land policy, earning the title of that of the "Pioneer of Flat building in Madras".

The first Ground + 2 storied flat system was born in 1967 @ Ayodhya, Canal Bank Road, Mandaveli, Chennai. An apartment complex that exists to date, serving as a testimony of the quality of construction and rock solid reliability.

Chennai’s first tryst with high rise living was courtesy RAMS, who launched the multi-storied Rams Mansion (Egmore) in 1976, adding yet another feather to RAMS' cap as a thinking and innovative developer who pioneers in introducing new trends in urban living.

Similarly Trichy was treated to it’s first high rise apartment in the form of RAMS Maris at Lawsons Road in the posh cantonment area. Wish scenic waterfront views on one side and the spiritual and serene Srirangam on the other, RAMS Maris remains one of the coveted properties amongst the elite of Trichy.

Our Presence

The reputation of RAMS as a reliable builder opened many opportunities as land owners across central and southern chennai offered their properties for development. RAMS went on to develop more than 300 plus projects, totaling more more than 30 lakh square feet.ft. in the last sixty plus years.

RAMS also was a plotted development pioneer in the 1970s with planning and selling plots totalling 300 acres in what is now Saraswathi Nagar near Ambattur and Ram Nagar in Perambur.

Apart from Chennai RAMS also ventured into premium locations in Bengaluru and Trichy with marquee developments in Infantry Road, Benson Cross Road, Bull Temple Road, Upper Palace Road in Bangalore and in the posh Lawsons Road in Cantonment area of Trichy.
